OK. Today I learnt about healing.
You know that I sliced through my finger 3 weeks ago.It is now a healthy pink scar but there are a couple of interesting (to me) facts. First let me say that I have had very few injuries in my longish life (I'm 68) so really I don't know much about injuries and healing.
My finger is ever so itchy atm. I think that this is the healing process.
The site above the cut still feels numb. That is apparently due to the fact that I cut numerous nerves and they haven't yet joined/healed.If you have ever had needles for dental work, you would be familiar with the "numb gum" feeling. Well that is what my finger feels like - numb and tingly.
It still hurts when I accidentally hit it. I'm amazed at how many times during a normal day you can accidentally hit your hand against something and the damn finger really throbs.I can't even twist thread around my finger ( to break the thread).
Anyway - yet another thing learnt. That's good.
